Weight loss (Self-growth) programme with a Difference!

This programme is really unique - the main aim of the process is holistic growth for you as a person, but the end result is weight loss.

Take a careful look at this if:

You just can't face another diet...

You have tried them all, only to gain all the weight and more...

You can't face yourself anymore...

You feel that you have to lose a lot more than just weight, like emotional pain, old baggage, resentment, etc...

The first focus is on the physical aspects of a healthy life style, like eating patterns and an exercise programme.

Secondly the focus is on the intellectual (cognitive) processes of the person involved, mainly identifying rigid, limiting and sometimes subconscious beliefs especially regarding being overweight.

The third area of focus is on the emotional life of the person. This is to acknowledge emotional eating in order to feel better, possible suppression of emotions and the role of various emotions in the eating patterns, like guilt, shame, resentment, etc.

Fourthly, the focus will be spiritual, looking at what you create, the lessons you have to learn and the meaning of being overweight for you.

A very important underlying principle of this programme is the maybe very controversial idea that being overweight is a dis-ease (dis-comfort). This means that being overweight is a symptom of something that is not working efficiently/not aligned and this may be physical, intellectual, emotional and/or spiritual. This is definitely not a quick fix, but you may empower yourself and start making your own choices. This is a life-changing programme.

Physical aspects

It is important to rule out any possible physical reasons for being overweight. One of these is hypothyroidism which is quite easy to determine by a blood test and also easy to medicate. Other physical reasons for being overweight is lack of exercise and eating more than what is being used by die person in the form of energy. Do you do any form of consistent exercise? Do you eat way more than what your body needs?

Other physical aspects to take into account are:

Do you really know what it feels like to be hungry? Can you distinguish between hunger and thirst?

Do you know what it feels like to be satisfied? And how it feels like to be overfull (stuffed)?

You need to learn to eat more for nourishment and less for any other reason. It is also important that you learn to know your own eating habits, patterns and triggers. Awareness is all important, especially about the choices you make regarding food.

Cognitive patterns

Possible rigid, limiting (sometimes) subconscious thoughts/beliefs at the base of the overweight person:

I will never be able to lose weight.

My family members are all overweight, so will I be.

 Food is my enemy.

I can just look at food and then get fat.

I feel safe when I am overweight.

These are only a few of the many possible beliefs which may underlie being overweight. This is a two step process - the beliefs have to be identified and then be replaced by more constructive beliefs that well be conducive for weight loss. The identification of the underlying beliefs is done by kinesiology and replacing them is enhanced by brain gym. This is a very unique process, totally possible and have amazing results!

Emotional aspects

Do you really, really want to lose weigth?

How much do you really care about yourself? Do you have compassion for yourself? Do you give your pet the most expensive pet food but stuff yourself with junk food?

Do you often feel like a victim and blame others (like your parents) for your eating habits and weight?

Do you sabotage your own efforts at losing weight by making the same mistakes over and over again?

Do you use food to cope with intense feelings and stress?

Do you have many unresolved feelings like resentment, shame and guilt?

When you start to cope with your emotions in a more constructive way, you will learn that you can be in control of your own body and that eating does not make you feel better (emotionally) in any way (even if it may feel that way at the moment!).

Spiritual aspects

Some spiritual (very closely linked to emotional) reasons for being overweight are as follows:

Being overly sensitive and having a need to protect yourself

Having lots of (sometimes hidden) anger

Difficulty in letting go and forgiving

Feeling lots of fear, insecurity, self-rejection

The person may not feel fulfilled (complete), mostly a characteristic of a strong Ego. What do you really want which you seek in the comfort of food?

As we create ourselves and our world through our thinking patterns and beliefs, ask yourself why you created yourself as being overweight. What is the purpose of your being overweight?

Which spiritual lessons do you need to learn in order to really be happy and fulfilled (and have the ideal weight)?
